Landing

What forces are on the shot put when it is landing?

When the shot put lands on the ground, it quickly decelerates making the velocity to 0. Because the shot put has a high velocity impacting the ground, it dents into the ground. The force of impact could be calculated by using the time it would start at the shot put touching the ground and ends at the shot put completely stops. The distance would be how deep the dent is. Using projectile motion, we can calculate the final velocity and distance travelled
